Accessibility

Military Odyssey is held at the Kent Events Centre at Detling. The venue has excellent facilities and for those with disabilities. Most parts of the site are accessible from tarmac roads which makes the site ideal for those with mobility issues. The area is mainly flat with the only incline being down to the Battlefield; some assistance may be required. Murrain woods also has an incline & as it is a woodland area it is uneven, but with care can be negotiated by wheelchair users; but again, some assistance may be required.

The venue also has several purpose-built accessible toilets around the showground and in places where there are none, such as the Battlefield and Public Camping we provide additional facilities in those areas, by way of temporary accessible toilets.

Please note that the venue does NOT have any changing places.

We also have a dedicated area for those with disabilities to view the battlefield events.

For those who are hearing aid users or those with some cognitive impairments, please note that there are very loud bangs as part of the displays. Hearing aid users may have to adjust their hearing aids & those with cognitive disabilities may prefer to use ear defenders.

We provide a dedicated parking area for those who display a blue badge on arrival in our car park. Please ensure that your blue badge is displayed clearly as you enter the show site, and our parking team will direct you to the appropriate area. This area is limited therefore early arrival would be advised.

For those of you that wish to stay on site with us, we have a dedicated accessible toilet and shower in the public camping area.

For those who have difficulty walking and may have difficulty in getting around the showground we have teamed up with Advanced Mobility Solutions are pleased they will be attending the show this year with a selection of both powered and non-powered mobility scooters & wheelchairs. These can be booked online directly with Advanced Mobility Solutions. You can prebook your mobility scooter with them directly by calling them on 01274 297777 or your can book online directly with Advanced Mobility HERE.

Above all we are here to try and help, so if you require any assistance please ask a member of the show staff and they will try and assist.
