Welcome to Military Odyssey

We want everyone attending Military Odyssey to have a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience. These Conditions of Entry are in place to help ensure the event runs safely for visitors, exhibitors, participants, volunteers and staff.

By entering the event site, you agree to follow these conditions and any instructions given by Military Odyssey Event Staff, Security, Stewards or Emergency Services.

Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry or removal from the event without refund.


1. Admission

  • All visitors must have a valid ticket, pass or authorised accreditation to enter the event.

  • Tickets remain the property of Military Odyssey and cannot be transferred, resold or used for unauthorised purposes.

  • Entry and re-entry are subject to the event’s admission arrangements in place at the time.

  • Military Odyssey reserves the right to refuse entry where necessary for safety, security or operational reasons.


2. Visitor Behaviour

Military Odyssey is committed to providing a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone.

  • Visitors are expected to behave respectfully towards other visitors, exhibitors, traders, performers, volunteers and event staff.

  • Military Odyssey operates a zero-tolerance policy towards physical or verbal abuse, threatening behaviour, harassment, intimidation or discrimination.

  • Any person behaving in this way towards anyone on site may be removed immediately from the event without refund.

  • Serious incidents may be reported to the Police and may result in further action.

  • Please follow instructions given by Event Staff, Security, Stewards, First Aiders and Emergency Services.

  • Visitors are responsible for their own personal belongings while attending the event.


3. Safety at the Event

Military Odyssey is a living history event with a number of active displays.

  • Visitors should be aware that the event includes moving military vehicles, aircraft, blank firing weapons, pyrotechnics, demonstrations and uneven outdoor ground.

  • Please remain behind barriers and within designated public areas at all times.

  • Children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

  • Do not enter display areas, camps, vehicle areas or restricted areas unless invited or authorised to do so.


4. Living History Displays & Demonstrations

  • Military camps, displays, vehicles and equipment are part of the experience and are often working exhibits.

  • Please do not touch equipment, weapons, vehicles or displays without permission from the relevant exhibitor or participant.

  • Battlefield demonstrations, blank firing, explosions, pyrotechnics and air displays may take place throughout the day.

  • Visitors who are sensitive to loud noises should take appropriate precautions.


5. Weapons, Military Equipment & Re-enactors

  • Military Odyssey includes authorised historical displays featuring military equipment, uniforms, vehicles and replica or deactivated weapons.

  • Only approved exhibitors, participants and authorised personnel may bring such items onto the event site.

  • All equipment must comply with UK legislation and Military Odyssey safety requirements.

  • Visitors must not handle weapons, equipment or vehicles belonging to exhibitors or participants unless permission has been given.


6. Photography & Video

We welcome visitors taking photographs and videos to capture their experience.

  • Photography and video recording for personal use, including sharing on personal social media accounts, is permitted.

  • Professional photography, commercial filming, content creation for commercial purposes or any use of images for advertising or promotional purposes must be approved in advance by Military Odyssey Event HQ.

  • Any professional photographer or videographer approved to work at the event agrees to provide Military Odyssey with copies of suitable images or footage for possible future marketing and promotional use.

  • Military Odyssey reserves the right to refuse or withdraw commercial media permission.


7. Photography, Filming & Privacy

  • Official Military Odyssey photographers and videographers will be present throughout the event.

  • By attending, visitors acknowledge that they may appear in photographs or video recordings taken during the event.

  • These images may be used by Military Odyssey for marketing, publicity, social media, promotional material and historical records.

  • CCTV may operate around the site for the safety and security of visitors, staff and property.

  • Any personal information collected by Military Odyssey will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.


8. Drones (Unmanned Aircraft)

  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft are not permitted anywhere on or above the event site unless prior written approval has been granted by Military Odyssey Event HQ.

  • Military Odyssey is a busy public event with large crowds, aircraft displays and live demonstrations. Unauthorised drone flights could create a serious risk to visitors, aircraft, participants and emergency operations.

  • Anyone operating a drone without permission may be asked to stop immediately, removed from the event and reported to the appropriate authorities where necessary.


9. Security Searches

  • To help keep everyone safe, Military Odyssey reserves the right to carry out searches of bags, containers and personal belongings before entry.

  • Searches will be carried out respectfully by authorised Event Staff or Security personnel.

  • Anyone refusing a search may be refused entry or removed from the event.

  • Prohibited items may be confiscated and, where appropriate, reported to the Police.


10. Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted unless specifically authorised:

  • Illegal weapons or offensive weapons.

  • Fireworks, explosives or dangerous substances.

  • Unauthorised firearms, replicas or weapon-related items.

  • Laser pointers.

  • Illegal drugs.

  • Drones or unmanned aircraft.

  • Any item considered unsafe by Event Management.


11. Dogs & Animals

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.

  • Well-behaved dogs are permitted on site but must remain on a lead and under control at all times.

  • Owners are responsible for their dog’s behaviour and must clean up after them.

  • Military Odyssey includes battlefield re-enactments, blank gunfire, explosions, aircraft and other loud noises which may occur without warning.

  • Please only bring dogs that are comfortable in this type of environment.

  • If a dog becomes distressed or presents a risk to itself or others, owners may be asked to remove their dog from the event.


12. Accessibility

We want Military Odyssey to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

  • Visitors should be aware that the event takes place on outdoor grounds which may include grass, uneven surfaces, slopes and temporary pathways.

  • Accessible facilities are provided where possible.

  • If you require assistance or have specific access needs, please contact Event HQ before attending or speak to a member of the team when you arrive.


13. Lost Children & Vulnerable Visitors

  • If you become separated from a child or vulnerable person, please contact the nearest member of Event Staff, Security or Event HQ immediately.

  • Parents, guardians and carers remain responsible for those in their care while attending the event.

  • Please do not attempt to remove or escort a lost child or vulnerable person yourself. Event Staff will follow the appropriate safeguarding procedures.


14. Emergency Procedures

  • In an emergency, please follow instructions from Event Staff, Security, Emergency Services or announcements made over the event public address system.

  • You may be asked to leave an area, move to a safer location or temporarily remain where you are.

  • Emergency routes and access points must be kept clear at all times.

  • Please cooperate fully with any emergency instructions.


15. Vehicles & Parking

  • Visitors must follow all parking instructions and signage.

  • Vehicles are parked at the owner’s own risk.

  • Unauthorised vehicle movement within event areas is not permitted.


16. Trading & Promotion

  • No unauthorised trading, selling, collecting, leafleting, promotion or commercial activity is permitted anywhere on site.

  • All traders, exhibitors and commercial operators must have prior approval from Military Odyssey.


17. Liability

  • We take every reasonable step to make Military Odyssey a safe environment for everyone.

  • Visitors remain responsible for their own personal belongings.

  • Military Odyssey cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage except where required by law.


18. Event Changes

  • Military Odyssey reserves the right to change displays, timings, attractions, participants or schedules where necessary.

  • Occasionally changes may be required due to weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside our control.


19. Right of Refusal

Military Odyssey reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour, actions or conduct may affect the safety, enjoyment or security of others.


By entering Military Odyssey, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Conditions of Entry.
