Accessibility

Military Odyssey takes place at the Kent Events Centre in Detling, offering excellent facilities, including provisions for visitors with disabilities. Most of the site is accessible via tarmac roads, making it suitable for those with mobility challenges. The terrain is largely flat, with a slight slope leading to the Battlefield and Murrain Woods. While the woods feature uneven ground, they can be navigated by wheelchair users with some assistance.

Accessible toilets are located throughout the showground, and additional temporary accessible facilities are available in areas such as the Battlefield and Public Camping. Please note, however, that the venue does not offer changing places.

For a better viewing experience, we have a dedicated area for visitors with disabilities to watch the battlefield events.

Be aware that some displays feature loud bangs, which may require hearing aid users to adjust their devices. Visitors with cognitive impairments may prefer to wear ear defenders for comfort.

A reserved parking area is available for blue badge holders. Please ensure your badge is clearly displayed upon entry, and our parking team will guide you to the appropriate area. Space is limited, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot.

For those staying on-site, we provide accessible toilets and showers in the public camping area.

For those who have difficulty walking and may have difficulty in getting around the showground we have teamed up with Advanced Mobility Solutions are pleased they will be attending the show this year with a selection of both powered and non-powered mobility scooters & wheelchairs. These can be booked online directly with Advanced Mobility Solutions. You can prebook your mobility scooter with them directly on the website  HERE
or by calling them on 01274 297777.

Above all we are here to try and help, so if you require any assistance please ask a member of the show staff and they will try and assist.

Blue Badge Holders – Parking
Disabled badge holders attending the show are kindly reminded to ensure their Blue Badges are clearly displayed upon arrival at the showground. This allows stewards to easily identify vehicles requiring accessible parking and direct them to the appropriate designated spaces. Proper display of the badge helps ensure a smooth and efficient parking process, providing convenient access to the event for those with mobility needs.

Carers Tickets
Carer tickets are available for those accompanying individuals who receive the higher level of Personal Independence Payment (PIP). These tickets ensure that carers can provide necessary support throughout the event. Tickets can be obtained from the onsite ticket office on showdays, with appropriate documentation confirming eligibility required. This helps make the event more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
